Why Invest in San Diego

Population growth in San Diego County commenced with approximately 35,000 people in 1900 to around 3,000,000 people today.

The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), the region’s Metropolitan Planning Organization, projects the region will grow by another 1.3 million people by 2050. That increase in population is likely to require 400,000 new homes and 500,000 new jobs.

Housing costs are likely to continue to escalate as most of the growth (63%) will be our own children and grandchildren rather than those moving into the area. As a result, more and more people are likely to rent rather than own due to the scarcity of land and the ever increasing prices in housing.
